A mandatory online check-in fee of £7 each way applies to all Ryanair bookings (Ryanair Cash Passport holders are exempt). Passengers may check-in between 15 days and four hours prior to scheduled departure (remember to bring your boarding pass to the airport; if you forget the fee is £70).

Ryanair no longer operates airport check-in desks, although it has "baggage drop facilities" where passengers deposit their luggage.

Hand luggage: one piece is allowed per passenger, weighing up to 10kg and not measuring more than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Handbags, briefcases, laptops and shop purchases all count towards your single-item baggage allowance. There's a fee for hand luggage that is overweight - £60. 

Checked: passengers purchase a baggage allowance and rates start at £15 for 15kg in the low season (£60 if done at the airport). On some routes - Canary Islands and Greece - 15kg of baggage allowance costs £20 online or at the airport. High season rates (June to September and Christmas and New Year) are £25 for 15kg online or £100 at the airport. A second piece of luggage (15kg) costs £40 online or £105 at the airport during the low season. In peak season (June-September and Christmas/New Year) it costs £50 online or £135 at the airport.

Excess rates: There's no pooling of baggage allowances for groups or families and excess baggage fees are £20 per kg.

None, though passengers who have checked-in online or purchased priority seating (for £7 online or £10 via the call centre) will be boarded first. Passengers may also reserve seats in the front two rows or in rows 16 and 17 (the over-wing rows) for £10.

Changes to the flight time, route or date can be made for a fee of £50 per passenger per one-way flight online, or £75 via the call centre, plus any additional fee for the new flight. Name changes can be made up to four hours before the flight is scheduled to take off. The cost is £110 online, or £160 at the call centre.

Ryanair does not offer child fares, but infants (0-23 months) can fly for £30 each way. Infant equipment (such as booster seats or travel cots) is charged separately, costing £10 per item if booked online or £20 via call centre or at the airport, with a maximum weight of 20kg per item.

Ryanair does not offer discounts for older travellers.

Pets will not be carried by Ryanair on any route. Guide dogs are permitted on certain routes; contact the airline in advance to book transport.

Musical instruments will be carried for £50 per instrument per one-way flight if booked online or £60 via call centre with a maximum weight of 20kg per item. It is advisable to pre-book the instrument at the time of buying your flight.

Sports equipment is charged at £40 if booked online or £50 if booked via the call centre or at an airport.

A selection of beverages and light snacks are available for purchase. A bottle of water costs about £3, a small tub of Pringles crisps £2, a cup of tea £2.50.
