easyJet Check-in
Online check-in is available from 30 days before the date of departure until two hours before take-off (there's no fee for this). At the airport, check-in desks close 40 minutes before the flight is scheduled to depart. EasyJet recommends checking in two hours before departure.
easyJet baggage allowance
Hand luggage: one piece of hand luggage is allowed. There's no weight limit but the maximum dimensions are 56 x 45 x 25cm. Exceed these and the fee at the check-in desk is £25 or £40 at the boarding gate.
Checked: easyJet charges for checking-in luggage. Costs vary by route and start at £8 for a bag weighing up to 20kg. Luggage weights can be pooled across a party of travellers, something that can be very helpful to families.
Excess: the cost per kilo is £10 if booked online. Rates are much higher at the airport.
easyJet legroom
Pre-arranged seating
All Easyjet flights now have allocated seating for free but passengers can choose their seat if they want to have extra leg space or want to seat near exit positions or in the front few rows. The cost varies from £3 to £12 depending on your choice of seat
Passenger change details
Flight times and dates may be changed for a fee of £35 online or £40 by telephone or at the airport, however if you purchase a Flexible Fare, flight-time changes can be made free of charge (one week before to three weeks after the original travel date) subject to availability. Changing the name of the passenger carries a fee of £35 (£40 by phone or at the airport) plus any difference in fares if the fare has increased since the original booking. A name change can be made up to one hour before the flight is scheduled to depart.
Child fares
easyJet doesn't do child fares - adult fares apply when children are two - and the infant fare is £20 per flight.
Senior fares
easyJet does not offer discounts for older travellers.
Pets
Pets will not be carried by easyJet, with the exception of guide dogs on domestic UK routes and flights that take-off and land within mainland Europe (excluding UK routes). Passengers with service dogs must depart from one of the following UK airports: Belfast, Bristol, London Luton, Luton Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Service dogs are not allowed on flights to or from the UK or mainland Europe to or from Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Kosovo, Turkey or Jordan.
Carrying musical instruments
Musical instruments measuring up to 30 x 120 x 38cm can be carried in the cabin. Instruments that exceed those dimensions must be checked in to the hold.
Carrying sports equipment
Extra baggage allowance must be purchased for sports equipment such as skis or surfboards. The cost is £25 per flight if purchased online or £30 if purchased at the airport.
In-flight service
A selection of light snacks and beverages is available for purchase. For example, a Twix bar costs £1, a sandwich £4 and a cup of Starbucks coffee £2.50.
