Aegean Airlines | TicketBarato Aegean Airlines SA is the largest Greek airline by total number of passengers carried, by number of destinations served and by fleet size. A Star Alliance member since June 2010, it operates scheduled and charter services from Athens and Thessaloniki to other major Greek destinations as well as to a number of European destinations. Checked Baggage Foodstuffs in semi-solid or liquid form must be suitably packed in wooden cases with absorbent material to avoid any leakage which might cause damage to the property of others. If carrying food you should also bear in mind regulations limiting the importing of foodstuffs that may apply in various states. The following items should not be placed within the cases you check in, but must always be kept with you: medicines, jewellery, cash, insurance policies, securities, contracts, official papers, deeds, samples, electronic devices (videocameras, laptops, rechargers, etc.) and in general any valuables or fragile items. If you want to transport fragile items, during the luggage control you will be asked to sign a document (Limited Release Form), which indicates that the transport of the items is at your own risk. Children travelling alone Aegean Airlines service for unaccompanied children allows minors aged between 5 and 12 to travel safely when in certain circumstances are not accompanied by their parents / guardians. An escort for your children can be arranged during your booking by calling to our reservations department. You will need to give the name, address and telephone number of the person who will be accompanying the child to the departure airport, and of the person who will be picking the child up on arrival. In both cases – departure and arrival – the accompanying adult will be required to produce proof of identity. Unaccompanied children are boarded first on the plane and will be supervised by our Ground Staff until handed over to the responsible designated party at the destination airport. Passengers with special needs Aegean Airlines is committed to providing irreproachable standards of service for all its passengers. Meeting the needs of our passengers is our main priority in all our operations and activities. Aegean Airlines is happy to provide all the necessary services to ensure that passengers with special needs enjoy a comfortable flight and can board and alight from their aircraft in perfect safety. Wheelchairs are carried free of charge and are not counted as part of the standard baggage allowance. Special assistance is available for elderly passengers at check-in and during the boarding process. If you book your ticket by phone, through our site or a travel agency, and you require assistance at the airport due to disability or medical condition, inform us before your booking is completed. To allow sufficient time for proper arrangements, assistance should be requested as soon as you book your flight, or no later than 48 hours before departure. Travelling with pets If you plan to travel with a pet you’ll have to contact our reservations department and inform us about your request. The same procedure must be followed if you reserve your seat through our web site.* Transportation of pet in aircraft cabin Transportation of pets(cats, dogs and ferrets) in aircraft cabin is allowed only if pets are carried in a special case. You are allowed to travel with just one pet, either a dog, cat or dog which will accompany you in the aircraft cabin and must travel within a special case which it is the passenger’s responsibility to provide. If you wish to transport more than one pet then it is a prerequisite that pets are familiar with each other. The case must be no larger than 55cm in length, 40cm in height and 23cm in width. The maximum permitted weight for a pet, including the case, is 8 kilos. The pet’s health book must be presented for inspection at check-in and the animal must have been fitted with the required ID microchip. When you are travelling abroad you must also present a pet passport . The animal must have a valid Anti-Rabies vaccination on the day of the travel. The Anti-Rabies vaccination is repeated every year. If the animal had his first Anti-rabies vaccination, it should not travel, unless 21 days have passed from the date of vaccination. The same restriction of 21 days applies in the event that the vaccination is applied after it had expired.
