Baggage allowances

Packing everything you need (and even some things you don't) into suitcases that are always too small and bags that are already overstuffed is never much fun. Let us make it easier for you with our helpful guide to packing.

What is my free checked baggage allowance?

·       Economy class – scheduled flights:1 piece of baggage with total linear dimensions not exceeding 158 cm and a maximum weight of  23  kg.

·      Business class: 2 pieces of baggage with  total linear dimensions  not exceeding 158 cm and a maximum weight of 32 kg each.

·      Scheduled charter flights: 1 piece of baggage with total linear dimensions not exceeding 185 cm and a maximum weight of 23 kg.

If your baggage exceeds the permitted dimensions or weight, you will be charged an Excess baggage fee.

What is my hand baggage allowance?

You can take one piece of hand baggage aboard Adria Airways flights, for example a small travelling bag, a portable computer or a briefcase.

Hand baggage may not exceed the dimensions 55 x 40 x 23 cm. The maximum permitted weight of hand baggage is 8 kg.

You may also take the following onto the aircraft with you: a coat, an umbrella, a walking stick/crutches, a camera, binoculars, a reasonable quantity of books and magazines, a baby basket or folding pushchair and a suitable quantity of baby food.

Travel documents

Check what documents you need

As a passenger, you yourself are responsible for complying with the laws, regulations and travel conditions of the countries you travel through on your way to your final destination. When planning your journey, always check the expiry date of your identity card or passport and whether you need a visa. An identity card is sufficient for citizens of Slovenia travelling to EU member states and certain other countries.

Passport and visa

passport is required for entry to Kosovo, Turkey and the Russian Federation. Don't forget that your passport should be valid for at least a further six months from the date of entry! The Turkish authorities require you to have at least one empty page in your passport for stamps. To fly to Moscow, you also need a visa (unless travelling on a diplomatic passport).

Airline ticket

Electronic ticket

At check-in you need a passport or identity card and a printed electronic ticket

The electronic ticket or e-ticket (officially known as an Electronic Ticket Passenger Itinerary Receipt) has replaced the old paper ticket. It is available on all our flights. You can buy your e-ticket at our sales offices in Slovenia and abroad, from authorized travel agents and on our website. It is also possible to check in without a printed e-ticket but we recommend that you have your ticket with you throughout your journey. A printed e-ticket makes it easier to resolve any complications at check-in, when changing a booking, and so on.

Travelling with children

How to travel with children

All children, whatever their age, need their own identity document with photograph. Even babies need their own tickets, although babies and infants (children under 2 years old) do not need their own seat. You may take a child’s car seat or folding pushchair right up to the aircraft door or steps, along with a suitable (small) quantity of food. The free baggage allowance for babies and infants includes one piece of baggage with total linear dimensions of up to 158 cm and a maximum weight of 23 kg, and a folding pushchair weighing up to 10 kg. Leave the car seat or pushchair at the aircraft door or steps and collect it from the same place after landing. If you wish to have your child’s car seat with you in the cabin, you will need to purchase an additional seat.

Additional benefits when travelling with children

Children over 2 years old are entitled to discounts of between 10% and 33% on ticket prices.

On flights where food is served, we offer special children's meals for children aged 2 to 12. Baby meals are also available to order.

Unaccompanied children

An escort can also be arranged for children up to 16 on request. Make sure your child's travel documents are in order, and check whether a visa is required.

How to organize an escort for your child
