Airline overview

Atlantic Airways is the national airline of the remote Faroe Islands, which are located in the North Atlantic Ocean between the UK and Iceland. The carrier is based at Vagar Airport on the island of Vagar, the only air field in the islands. Although it is a relatively small airline - with a fleet of just eight  aircraft and a  network comprising seven destinations - it operates scheduled passenger services, charter flights, helicopter services and search-and-rescue  operations.

International services between Vagar and other parts of Europe include flights to London Stansted Airport; Aalborg, Billund and Copenhagen in Denmark; Reykjavik in Iceland; and Bergen in Norway. The carrier operates many domestic helicopter flights within the Faroe Islands to Mykines, Torshavn, Dimun and other towns, settlements and isles.
